Wilton Rocks for Food Benefit Concert is Saturday, December 7

Concert Supports Connecticut Food Bank, Wilton Food Pantry

WILTON, CONN., December 6, 2019 – Wilton Rocks for Food presents its fifth benefit concert for Connecticut Food Bank and the Wilton Food Pantry on Saturday, December 7, at 8:00PM, at the Trackside Teen Center in Wilton. Doors open at 7:00PM.

The event is sold out, but the organizer, Wilton resident Andy Schlesinger, said they are still raising funds for Connecticut Food Bank and Wilton Food Pantry. “We are still accepting donations online,” Schlesinger said. “We hope to exceed our fundraising goal to provide important help to these organizations.” Schlesinger said 100-percent of funds raised are donated to the two food assistance organizations. The event website is www.wiltonrocks.com.

Last year’s event raised $125,000 for the two organizations. Schlesinger said the goal this year is to raise $150,000. He says he has cause to be hopeful because interest is strong. “Last year, our goal was $100,000 and we raised $125,000. I’m hopeful we continue our trend of exceeding goals.” Schlesinger added that a silent auction at the event will provide additional opportunity to meet the goal.

Wilton Rocks for Food will feature food, beer, and a silent auction in addition to the concert. The event is open to adults aged 21 and older. One-hundred percent of proceeds from the event will be donated to the Connecticut Food Bank and the Wilton Food Pantry.

Schlesinger said the concert will once again feature Wilton-based artists performing a variety of rock and pop music. The positive response and goal-exceeding amounts raised have proven the event is already becoming a tradition.

“Andy and the Wilton community have come to be a wonderful winter tradition,” said Connecticut Food Bank CEO Valarie Shultz-Wilson. “It’s great entertainment and represents important support for our two organizations. We are grateful to the organizers, performers, and donors who give so generously.”

Wilton Rocks for Food is Saturday, December 7, at 8:00PM, at the Trackside Teen Center, 15 Station Road in Wilton. Doors will open at 7:00PM. Admission is by pre-purchased ticket only and only to adults aged 21 and older. Information about the event is at www.wiltonrocks.com.
