Kelsey Phelan recently joined Connecticut Foodshare as Community Program Coordinator for Western Connecticut. Kelsey, a Connecticut native, graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. She is a Registered Dietitian and, before joining Connecticut Foodshare, worked for the City of Waterbury as the WIC Program Coordinator (the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women Infants and Children). Through the WIC program, she supported low-income families with nutrition education and support; breastfeeding education and support; and referrals in the greater Waterbury area as well as the Naugatuck Valley. Kelsey is part of the Network and Programs team and works with Mobile Food Pantries and Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) sites in the western half of the state.
