Ashley Burkell isthe new Network Relations Representative for Tolland and Windham counties. Ashley previously worked as the Volunteer Coordinator for Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen (DESK) in New Haven, a Connecticut Foodshare partner. Prior to DESK, Ashley served as a Food Access Intern for the Community Alliance for Research and Engagement (CARE) in New Haven where she worked with pantries to provide nutrition education and implement SWAP. Ashley lives in Manchester and holds a bachelor’s degree in public health with a minor in nutrition from Southern Connecticut State University.

Kristen Skulte has joined Connecticut Foodshareas the Network Relations Representative for Northwest Hills and the Naugatuck Valley. Kristen previously worked as a Program Assistant for the Connecticut Foodshare Institute for Hunger Research & Solutions, where she supported food pantries working to implement client choice and SWAP. Kristen most recently worked for Hartford Healthcare’s Institute of Living, where she created a yoga program for patients and taught yoga on psychiatric inpatient floors. Kristen serves as the President and is a regular volunteer for the Farmington Food Pantry. Kristen is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health degree at UMass Amherst with a focus on food insecurity.
