Turning Orange to Fight Hunger!

21/Sep/15 / 15:44

On September 16, the Connecticut Food Bank and our Hunger Action Month partner Citizens Bank helped New Haven “Turn Orange to Fight Hunger” with a special event on Pitkin Plaza.

Local Graffiti Artist Ryan ARCY Christenson created a mural at the event, using a powerful visual image to stress the importance of healthy food for all.

Thank you to Stop & Shop, which provided water and snacks for the event, as well as to Pitkin Plaza neighbors Trinity Bar and Restaurant and G Café Bakery, which also offered snacks to visitors.

Thanks also to Connecticut Food Bank volunteers and to partner programs FISH and Community Soup Kitchen for joining us at the event to share information about hunger in Connecticut and how members of the public can help feed hungry neighbors.
