3/11/25 Connecticut Foodshare responds to drastic cuts to federal funds.
It has certainly been a hectic start to 2025 here at Connecticut Foodshare.
Lucy is an 80-year-old retired school bus driver and nursing professional living in Bloomfield.
For over five decades, the response to growing food insecurity was often met with increased food distribution, but the root causes are much more complex, including lack of affordable housing, low wages, high living costs, and systemic inequities. Connecticut Foodshare recognizes that ending food insecurity requires addressing these root causes and has created the Connecticut Foodshare Neighbor Council to engage with neighbors and influence food bank and government policies.
